Rafael Nadal, Dominik Thiem, Naomi Osaka and Iga Sviontek nominate for Laureus award

Hispanic Rafael Nadal, Austrian Dominic Tim and polka Iga Sviontek qualify for the Laureus award.

Nadal has been nominated for the Best Athlete of the Year award. Also in the nomination are Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, Lakers forward LeBron James, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, pole vaulter and world record holder Armand Duplantis and Ugandan runner Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei.

Osaka claims to be the Female Athlete of the Year. The rivals of the Japanese woman will be marathon runner Brigid Cosgey, cyclist Anna van der Bregen, skier Federica Brignone, defender of Olympique and the French national football team Wandy Renard and forward of Seattle basketball Brianna Stewart.

Tim and Sviontek will compete for the Breakthrough of the Year award, which also features Barcelona midfielder Anssumane Fati, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Suzuki racer Joan Mir and Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar.
