WTA: For our organization, the psychological health of any player will always come first
The press service of the WTA released a statement in connection with the refusal of the Japanese woman Naomi Osaki from communicating with journalists at Roland Garros.
“For our organization, the psychological health of any player will always come first. We have a team of highly qualified specialists who are ready to provide comprehensive support to tennis players and take care of their well-being.
We welcome a dialogue with Naomi, which will allow us to discuss formats that will allow athletes to cope with psychological pressure, while allowing the WTA to fulfill its responsibilities to the fans.
Professional athletes are required to communicate with the press in order to convey their point of view to the general public and share their stories, “the statement said.
