Russell challenges Davis to a duel

“I am not at all happy with the frequency of fights once a year, I would like to be able to perform more often and show my skills and abilities to my fans, people who generally enjoy the work and the effort that I show. I just have to proceed from the situation that has developed. “
Russell was able to enter the ring in February before the pandemic halted the sport earlier in the year when he defeated the previously undefeated Thugstogt Nyambayar by unanimous decision. Prior to that, Russell fought more than once a year in 2014, when he won two fights and lost to Vasily Lomachenko. Russell is solely featherweight so far, but said he is ready to put on weight to find suitable opponents.
“I am ready to compete in the weight classes from 126 to 130 and 135 pounds, and if someone is ready to offer me a cool fight in any other weight class, I am ready to meet, too,” – said Russell.
Russell even challenged welterweight champion Terence Crawford earlier this year, but a potential clash with Jervonte Davis could be a more realistic fight for him.
