Football club "Rostov" announced the signing of a contract with former goalkeeping coach "Rubin" Vitaly Kafanov, reports Prosports.kz.
The 58-year-old specialist takes over the position of senior coach from Rostov and will help team mentor Valery Karpin. Recall that Kafanov previously worked in Rostov from 2015 to 2017. Together with Rostov, who was then headed by Kurban Berdyev, the goalkeeping coach won the silver medal of the RPL in the 2015/16 season.
When he was a player, Vitaly Kafanov defended the colors of two Kazakh teams – Kairat and Elimaya – and had six matches for the country's first national team. As a coach, he worked in the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan as assistant to Yuri Krasnozhan.
Now Kafanov will work in the same club with Bakhtiyor Zainutdinov and Alexander Zuev, who does not rule out the opportunity to play for the Kazakhstan national team.
