Conlan defeated Baluta, Edwards the new world champion

The undefeated Michael Conlan (15-0, 8 KOs) won a tough majority vote over Ionut Baluta (14-3, 3 KOs) in a tough fight at the York Hall in London. For Conlan, it was his debut at the bantamweight title. The score of Judges’ Notes 114-114 and 115-114, 117-112 in favor of Conlan.

In the main event of the evening, Sunny Edwards (16-0, 4 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Moruti Mtalane (39-3, 26 KOs). After twelve rounds, the judges counted 120-108, 118-111 and 115-113 in favor of Edwards, who thus became the IBF World Flyweight Champion.
