2020 European Football Championship: is it possible for Russian fans to attend matches in Europe and the UK

Football

Italy

For Russians, entry to Italy on a tourist visa is prohibited. You can get into the country only if the trip is of a working nature (you can stay no more than 120 hours, after that you either need to leave or go into quarantine) or educational. Before the flight, you must fill out an electronic form

Netherlands

It will not work with a tourist visa. Work, study, relatives, citizenship or residence permit in the EU – please. But there are no indulgences for Euro ticket holders.

Germany

The same thing – the Germans let only EU citizens and their relatives, persons with a residence permit and those who come for a “special reason” (medical treatment, business, study, meeting with a lover) are allowed in.

Spain

According to a document on the ministry’s website, entry is allowed for holders of long-term visas, but their type is not specified – it is better to clarify this point with the consulate when planning a trip. And so – the test no later than 72 hours before the trip, and the completed form 48 hours before the trip for website

Azerbaijan

Russian citizens can enter the country if they fit into one of the categories:

– a citizen of Azerbaijan or a person permanently residing in the territory of Azerbaijan;

– an employee of the embassy or consulate in Azerbaijan (and his family);

– a close relative (spouses, parents or children) of citizens of Azerbaijan (upon presentation of documents confirming the relationship);

– Citizens who have a work permit in Azerbaijan (including a special permit issued by the Government of Azerbaijan).

Entry has been simplified for fans to Euro, but only for those whose national teams will play in Baku: Turkey, Great Britain and Switzerland (plus those who will reach the quarterfinals). They can not comply with quarantine – it is enough to present a negative PCR result, made no later than 48 hours before departure.

Hungary

And here they are waiting for us: the country’s authorities have allowed entry to foreign fans who have a ticket for a match in Budapest, as well as a negative PCR test done no later than 72 hours before the trip. Please note: Help must be in English. Also, Hungary is allowed in if you have a document confirming that you have been sick with coronavirus over the past six months.

Romania

Good news again! Russians can go to Romania – our country is located in the green zone, so there is no need to comply with quarantine. The procedure is standard – a test no later than 72 hours before entry. But please note: if you are coming from another country, it is better to check in what zone is it in

Great Britain

You can get a visa and enter too. Entry conditions depend on the country in which you spent the last 10 days:

– if it is on the green list, then you need a PCR test, passed no later than 48 hours before the trip;

– if in yellow, you will have a 10-day quarantine at your place of residence and 2 tests;

– if in red – you will not be allowed into the country (unless you are British, Irish or holder of a residence permit).

List of countries monitor here… Russia is currently on the yellow list. I would like to believe that closer to the tournament these rules will change.

Denmark

The authorities have divided the countries into three lists: yellow, orange and red. Russia is in orange, so the citizens of our country can enter only if there is a “special purpose” of the visit – and, alas, attendance at Euro matches is not included there. At the same time, it will not work to fly in from another EU country: it is the country in which you permanently reside that is taken into account. Today this information has appeared on the website of the Danish consulate. The Russian Football Union has already asked UEFA to resolve the issue.

“We turned to UEFA with a request to help resolve the issue of admitting fans of the Russian national team to the most important match in Copenhagen on 21 June. The Danish authorities do not plan to let foreign fans into the Euro, although the Russian side allowed entry into St. Petersburg not only for citizens of the playing countries, but also for all ticket holders. We will do our best to help our fans and provide support for the national team in the most important match against the Danes. We hope that the authorities of this country will meet us halfway, ”the RFU communications service said.
