Boxers had two fights before. In the first round, a draw was recorded, and in the second round Canelo won by a decision of the judges.
The last fight that Alvarez played on 2 November 2019. Then he knocked out Sergey Kovalev and took him a belt according to the WBO light heavyweight title.
