The Atlantic Commission of the State of New York has imposed a temporary ban on three Kazakh boxers, including former world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KOs), reports Prosports.kz.
This action was taken due to a boxing evening at Madison Square Garden which took place on the morning of 9 June around Kazakh time. So Golovkin, who had thrown the Canadian Steve Rolls (19-1, 10 KOs) out of the tournament, suspended until 15 June of the current year of the fighting. Rolls can only lead to battles with special permission.
Until June 15 Ali Akhmedov (15: 0, 11 KO) from Kazakhstan and the winner of Bakhtiyar Eyubov (14: 1 – 1, 12 KO) from Kazakhstan, the American Brian Seballo (9: 0, 4 KO), do not box. Eyubov in turn has to rest until 22 June.
Markus McDaniel, who was beaten by Ahmedov (15-1, 2 KOs) and Rolls, is indefinitely excluded from the fight.
Such removal is medical in nature and is designed to ensure that athletes can recover properly and is not a disqualification in the true sense of the word.
